Description of the Assignment:
The position will support the customer in the implementation of a Project Management Office by supporting and contributing in the development and adoption of the PMO processes for project identification, prioritization, execution and reporting, as well as the execution of assigned projects needed to drive the strategic objectives. The Project Manager will be assigned high-priority projects of medium to medium-high complexity with the expectation that the applicable PM best practices applicable to the project will be utilized. The position is also responsible for senior executive engagement and reporting on the state and performance of initiatives assigned within the selected projects.
This implementation is a multi-phased approach that will unfold as the initial stages are implemented. The key deliverables of this initial stage include the implementation of the selected project management tools, templates, and systems defined by the customer, while assuming the project management role of assigned projects; the focus will continue to evolve into full project management.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s (Required)
- 8+ years of experience in project management, including projects of medium to medium-high complexity
- Skilled in project management software tools
- Knowledge in risk management methods
- Knowledge in cost management tools for project control
- Demonstrated experience in managing “upward” among senior leadership
- Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams
- Demonstrated increasing leadership responsibilities
- Consulting leadership experience a plus
